We are seeking a Bookkeeper to join our team and manage the financial records of our growing establishment. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in hospitality accounting, preferably within the wine, restaurant, or bar industry.
- Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger entries, and reconciliations.
- Bank & Credit Card Reconciliation: Process transactions, reconcile daily sales, deposits, and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy.
- Payroll & Taxes: Process payroll, track employee hours, and ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor wine and food inventory costs and quantities.
- Cost Management: Manage vendor invoices, and assist in cost control strategies.
- Financial Reporting: Generate profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports to aid management in informed decision-making.
- Compliance & Licensing: Assist with regulatory reporting, sales tax filings, and maintain compliance with Pennsylvania liquor laws.
- Cash Flow & Budgeting: Monitor cash flow and assist in budgeting efforts to ensure profitability.
- Accounting Software Management: Utilize QuickBooks Online (QBO) to manage financial transactions.
- Experience: 5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably in a hospitality, bar, or restaurant setting.
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Software Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Microsoft Excel, and Point of Sale (POS) systems (e.g., Commerce7, Square, Toast, or similar).
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with wine and beverage industry accounting, inventory management, and Pennsylvania liquor tax reporting is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy.
- Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively with management, outsourced accountant, vendors, and staff to ensure financial efficiency.
