Description
The Maintenance Specialist ensures that buildings, grounds, and equipment are well-maintained and fully functional by performing repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections. This position is responsible for fixing electrical systems, maintaining equipment, welding, and addressing safety and compliance needs. Additionally, this position keeps facilities clean, safe, and operational while coordinating with contractors and managing maintenance supplies.
General Maintenance
- Conducts routine inspections of buildings and facilities to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Oversees preventative maintenance tasks, such as replacing filters, testing systems, and lubricating equipment.
- Diagnoses the source of failures and makes necessary repairs as needed to return to service, minimizing down time.
- Observes equipment in operation to prevent or diagnose potential issues.
- Welding, sandblasting, and painting is required.
Safety and Compliance
- Adheres to safety regulations and ensures facilities meet local codes and standards.
- Keeps records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes.
- Maintains an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, and reorders as necessary.
- Reports facility-related concerns to management and propose improvement plans.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area, returning tools, equipment, and supplies to the appropriate storage areas after each assignment.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assists the production team with daily tasks as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Competencies
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
- One year certification from a college or Technical School preferred.
- One or more years of experience in a manufacturing, construction or production facility required.
- Fundamental knowledge of mechanical, electrical, fabrication and automation required.

Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED Certification or equivalent is required.
- Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Additional equivalent technical/trade school courses in a maintenance or construction related field.
- Two years of experience in general maintenance or construction is required.
- Knowledge of building construction and the operation of building systems is preferred.
- Automation knowledge.
