THE VITAL HUMAN SERVICES ROLE YOU'LL HAVE
Each day as a Day Program Assistant, you'll step into a world where fun meets purpose. You'll start the day by planning engaging activities - maybe it's a relaxing walk in the park, a creative art session, or a trip to a local festival. As you lead community-based outings, you'll help individuals develop social and daily living skills, whether it's practicing conversations, learning to navigate public spaces, or gaining confidence in everyday interactions. Between activities, you'll provide one-on-one support, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. You'll also attend meetings and handle some administrative tasks, making sure everything runs smoothly. Through it all, you'll be a mentor, advocate, and friend - helping each individual find joy, independence, and belonging.
The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8 : 00 am to 4 : 00 pm. In addition, flexibility to work outside of the typical schedule will be needed for program and agency events.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS
Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviors would be a plus for this human services role!
