Senior Payroll Administrator
Location: Rockville, MD (Hybrid: 2 days in the office)

Position Summary: The Senior Payroll Administrator will oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance for both domestic and select international employees. The role also includes preparing journal entries and reconciling payroll data with the general ledger, making it ideal for a finance professional skilled in payroll operations and seeking growth within an established organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls, including garnishments, deductions, and 401(k) contributions, ensuring compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and serve as the main point of contact for payroll matters.
- Collaborate with third-party payroll vendors to ensure payroll processing aligns with company policies.
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts, prepare journal entries, and generate reports summarizing payroll activities.
- Perform audits on employee pay records and support various internal and external audits (e.g., 401(k), workers’ compensation, financial audits).
- Serve as the backup for international payroll and maintain payroll process documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, with a minimum of five years in payroll administration.
- Proficiency with payroll platforms like UKG, ADP, or Paychex; UKG experience is a plus.
- Advanced skills in Excel and the ability to handle complex data analyses.
- Strong understanding of payroll functions, including tax and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
