General Summary :
Our Woodbury location is seeking Kitchen staff (both Cooks and Prep Cooks) to join our team. The Cook's primary responsibility is to prepare food in accordance with established menus, recipes and sanitary standards.
The working hours for this position will be 11am to 7pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Ensures that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
Assists in standardizing the method in which work will be accomplished and that meals are served on time.
Reviews menus and prepares food for the next day's meals.
Ensures that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Prepares meals in accordance with planned menus, adhering to all sanitary regulations.
Prepares and serves meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
Prepares food with standardized recipes and adheres to special diet orders.
Prepares evening snacks; Prepares substitute meals for residents who prefer other food.
Works with other departments as necessary in relation to food service needs.
Assists management with ordering of food and supplies.
Assists in inventorying and storing food and supplies
When working with residents, exhibits behavior that supports a person-centered culture of care where resident has a voice and a share in decision making regarding plan of care.
Education and Experience : High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in an institutional food service environment.
Experience in an Assisted Living, Long-Term Care, hospital or other health care environment preferred.
