What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Highway Engineer position at Turner Group?
The Turner Group is seeking a motivated Senior Level Highway Engineer to join and continue the growth of our award-winning team in our Concord, NH office. Applicants should be organized, creative, and enjoy working in a collaborative design environment, while also possessing the ability to be a self-starter, problem solver and function independently. We are searching for an individual desiring to make a long-term commitment and interested in advancement. Current infrastructure project types consist of municipal bridges and roads, with movement into new sectors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Delivery of infrastructure projects from conception through final design
· Researches code requirements and ensures feasibility of design solutions
· Follows and manages project budget, work plan, consultants, and schedule
· Communicates with Project Team and Clients
· Creates design solutions to meet all necessary design requirements and specifications
· Performs calculations using Excel and/or MathCad
· Generates hydraulic calculations for stormwater design
· Creates and proposes scope and fee
· Maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the Project Team
· Facilitates communication through meetings, minutes, and up-date memos to Project Team
· Ensures projects are in compliance with the office standards
· Coordinates work efforts while ensuring that the team remains on schedule and budget
· Construction administration including processing of submittals, RFI’s, and other project documentation
· Contributes to office leadership including professional development coaching and mentoring staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum 8-15 years of highway design experience
· Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering
· Professional Engineer registration
· Experience in AutoCad / Civil 3D / MicroStation / InRoads
· State DOT design experience
· A thorough understanding of drawings, details, and specifications
· Technical experience in document coordination and implementation
· Management experience integrating engineering and owner consultant teams
· Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
· Careful attention to detail and accuracy
· A commitment to inclusive design processes and outcomes
