Helper / Insulator

Turner Industries Group is looking for journey-level insulation helpers for maintenance work in Decatur, AL. We are seeking a Helper / Insulator for a position in Pace, FL. The Helper position is responsible for assisting skilled construction workers in performing their assigned duties and performing a large variety of duties. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Functional Requirements :

Read and sign off on JSA prior to starting shift, Employee may perform one or more of the following duties : digs,

spreads and levels dirt and gravel, touch up paint, pour and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel or other materials,

handle building materials, fix flats and change out tires on trailers and mobile equipment, lifts and carries

materials such as pipe and fittings throughout the facility, Helps with tools and equipment such as welding

machine set up, rigging for the crane, tightening headstock etc., If certified may be required to operate the

crane, May be transferred from task to task as the project progresses to completion, Maintains a clean and safe

work environment at all times, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Qualification Standards :

• High school or equivalent
• Preferably six (6) months of experience in specified skill
• Able to focus on task at hand without being distracted
• Post-offer drug / alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Pre-Employment qualification test if applicable
• Job site "Personal Protective Equipment" requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses, long sleeve shirt,

gloves, steel toe boots, etc.)

Physical Involvement :

maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions; handling and manipulating

standing / sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching / squatting; seeing with or without

correction; hearing with or without correction; wearing respirator and other PPE; typing / data entry; stepstool

use; work in excessive heat; work in excessive cold; work in loud environment

Mental Involvement :

knowledge of federal, state and company standards and regulations; ability to read and write; ability to recognize

planning work and selecting proper tools; comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form

of lines, figures and objects; picturing and evaluating solid objects from drawing or diagrams using standards that

can be measured or checked; ability to communicate with others effectively; ability to work in a team and get

along with others; ability to learn new tasks; remember processes, maintain focus, and complete tasks; ability to

remain calm under pressure; manage time and expectations across multiple projects; ensure that work is done in

a consistent manner and in compliance with directions

Work Environment Factors :

high elevations; work performed in confined areas

hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc.; various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment,

etc.; potential exposure to chemical substances
