ROLE OVERVIEW: The position of Intake Coordinator Specialist is responsible for meeting new clients in person and on the phone; evaluating their level of need. Recognize and assess potential crisis using Turning Point Client Assessment and Crisis ANSA (Adult Needs and Strengths Assessment) Matrix.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Preferred experience in the mental health/addiction behavioral health field. Experience in business administration and in working closely with partnerships and community leaders.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
PREREQUISITE SKILLS: Must possess cohesive team building skills, business/administration skills, Interpersonal skills, and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Experience
- Answer phones in a courteous manner being helpful to the client calling.
- Call clients to remind them of appointments the day before their appointment.
- Greet clients and welcome them to Turning Point. Be excited they are here to get the help they need and deserve.
- Assist prospective clients filling out multiple forms, outlining their reasons for seeking help and history of past treatment efforts.
- Review assessment information and assign cases to an appropriate Navigator for in-depth evaluation.
- An initial assessment may include involving a prospective client’s family members or other treatment professionals to determine the physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.
- Once assigned to Navigation, the Intake Coordinator explains the evaluation process, and sets up necessary appointments.
- Provide follow-up calls when required and participate in all assessment activities. Assist to collect and analyze all information and recommend improvements to all processes when applicable.
- Answering phones and scheduling appointments throughout the day.
Competence
- Must be proficient in Microsoft 365
- Handling incoming calls and some scheduling of appointments
- Managing filing system
- Recording information as needed
- Being organized, systematic and able to make efficient use of available time
- Demonstrates initiative, self-motivation and the ability to “read the need”
- Ability to embrace diversity and work for cultural safety
- Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external staff, partners, and clients
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Supporting staff members who deliver mental health services and/or addiction peer support to clients and their families.
- Ensuring a professional service is provided to all clients and their families
- Ensuring all administrative tasks are coordinated and completed in a timely manner.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
