What you'll do as a Special Event Porter:
- Banquet Porter ensures banquet tables, buffet tables, registration tables, chairs, portable bars, staging, podiums, and audio-visual equipment are placed according to banquet prospectus.
- Ensures that all meeting rooms are set with the proper amenities (mints, meeting notes, pens, fresh water, etc.).
- Ensures all necessary serving equipment is placed appropriately and tested.
- Always returns all banquet equipment to appropriate storage areas.
- Continually monitors stock levels and obtains supplies and equipment for concession stands and portable bars.
To be successful as a Special Event Porter, you'll need:
- Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to prioritize multiple functions.
- Fine manipulation of hands is required for simple grasping of 5 pounds and pushing and pulling of up to 100 pounds.
