A Line Cook prepares and cooks dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards at their assigned station. They work as part of a team to ensure high-quality meals are produced efficiently, maintaining pace and consistency in a fast-paced environment.

What does a Line Cook do?                                            

• Sanitation Procedures: Demonstrates a thorough understanding of sanitation procedures, consistently applying them and ensuring that all team members adhere to these standards.

• Food Handling: Understands the importance of proper food handling procedures and ensures that HACCP guidelines are always followed.

• Safety Standards: Continually instructs less knowledgeable employees on the proper use of kitchen equipment, emphasizing the highest safety standards.

• Recipe Compliance: Always follows approved recipes, ensuring proper cooking techniques and maintaining the highest quality standards.

• Training: Instructs less knowledgeable employees in using recipes and producing consistent, high-quality food items.

To be successful as a Line Cook, you'll need:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Associates degree in a related field or culinary degree preferred.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered. 
• Must possess a minimum of 2-3 years related experience.
• Must possess a valid NYS Drivers license
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 75 pounds
