Our mission is to offer seamless, high-quality housing solutions across the country, and we are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Accountant/Bookkeeper to help manage our financial operations and support the continued growth of our business. In this role, you will work closely with senior management to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial records, invoicing, and reporting. If you are a proactive, self-driven individual with strong organizational skills and a passion for numbers, we would love to have you on our team!
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly Invoicing: Prepare and issue monthly client invoices for rent, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. Process incoming rent payments and track any discrepancies.
- Accounts Payable (AP): Manage monthly rent payment, third-party rent payments, furniture billing, and other operational costs. Ensure all bills are paid on time and accurately recorded in QuickBooks.
- QuickBooks (QB) Data Entry & Expense Coding: Receive payments, code expenses into appropriate accounts within QuickBooks, and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Aged Accounts Receivable (AR) Reporting & Follow-up: Generate and review aged AR reports, follow up on outstanding payments, and work with clients to resolve any issues.
- Utility & Cable Audits: Conduct monthly audits of utility and cable bills to ensure accuracy and compliance with service agreements. Identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Transient Tax Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate reporting of transient occupancy taxes on a monthly basis. Keep abreast of any changes to local tax laws that may impact reporting requirements.
- Ad-hoc Financial Analysis: Assist with monthly financial analysis, including reporting and identifying trends or discrepancies. Depending on skill level, help prepare more detailed financial reports and budgeting to support decision-making.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accountant, preferably in corporate housing, property management or a similar hospitality-related industry.
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks (experience with QuickBooks Online is a plus).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reporting.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, and financial analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), Google Workspace (Google Sheets, Docs, etc.) and comfortable with cloud-based financial software.
