Turnkey Interiors LLC (TKI), a woman-led, Utah based company, specializing in the installation of doors, trim and hardware for commercial projects is looking for a can-do, hard working individual to hire on as a Field Superintendent Trainee. This paid apprentice program is for individuals who have a desire to be a carpenter and the ambition to become a Field Superintendent. If you are chosen to participate in our customized 1 ½ to 2 year training program, you will learn all the ins and outs of the different processes it takes to deliver the highest quality product and service day in and day out. The ideal candidate is humble, hungry, coachable, understands how to build valuable relationships, collaborative, a team player and willing to go the extra mile beyond their job description to complete jobs on time at the highest standards of safety and quality. During the program, you will perform a variety of positions from preparing and cleaning job sites, loading and unloading heavy doors, driving loads to sites, working in the door division warehouse and shop, shipping and receiving, carpentry, installing and estimating to a superintendent position.

Once you progress through the Turnkey Field Superintendent Trainee Program, the goal is to become a Field Superintendent within 1 ½ - 2 years. However, in the first 1 ½ - 2 years, 80% of your role will include performing set-up, clean-up, carpentry and other physical tasks 8 to 10 hours a day. Once the trainee apprentice program is complete, your roles & responsibilities can include the following:

  • Coordinating all onsite TKI-directed crews including installers, the delivery team, material movement team and subcontractors
  • Performing all activities related to framing, installing doors, trim and hardware
  • Communicating project expectations, deadlines and customer needs between all project stakeholders during the installation process (General contractors, contractors, onsite Job Project Managers, Superintendents, Turnkey Crews, Turnkey Project Managers and other key team members)
  • Participating in activities related to managing manpower hours, material expenses, quality, onsite productivity, efficiency, safety and security
  • Completing all paperwork related to onsite installation activities and installation project management

The Skillsets & Qualifications for the Trainee Program include:

  • A WILLINGNESS TO PERFORM ANY TASK THAT IS REQUIRED WITH A POSITIVE ATTITUDE!
  • 1 years’ experience in construction, a warehouse and/or manual labor position involving physically demanding days working inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions
  • Understanding of safety standards and procedures
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships with a variety of subcontractors, GCs, crews, co-workers, etc.
  • Keen problem solving skills to create win-win solutions
  • Experience submitting paperwork, reports and other information accurately and on time
  • Ability to learn technology and programs effectively and efficiently
  • Proficient in math used in carpentry (compound miter cuts)
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Effective and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel from site to site for installations
  • Willingness to get your hands dirty and work side by side crews to get the job done
  • Ability to work on your feet 8-10 hour days
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 100- 125 lbs up and down stairs
  • Valid Driver’s License and adequate transportation for construction sites
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus, not a requirement
  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check

Schedule:

Job Type: Full-time Monday thru Friday, onsite start time 7:00 a.m.

40-50 hours/week depending on workload

Compensation:

Hourly Rate while in the Construction Management Trainee position begins at $ 20.00 to $ 22.00/hr depending on construction and carpentry experience. Additional pay will be determined by how quickly the individual learns and meets each developmental milestone.

Eligibility for different benefits varies based on time with the company from 30 days to 1 year.
