Job Summary
Oversees the day-to-day daily front office operations of the graduate school office. Receives visitors to the graduate school office, handles applications for admission, maintains files on current and former students Supervisor the work-study students in the office and handles applications for graduations and other documents related to clearance of students. Serve as the Designed Student Officer (DSO) for Form 1-20 documents for international students. Collaborates with multiple other campus offices. Helps with recruitment of new programs, sets up meetings and workshops. Other duties as applicable.
Essential Job Duties
- Assist the Graduate Dean/Associate Dean/Assistant Dean with stakeholder meetings
- Assist with recruiting and marketing
- Oversee general operations of the graduate school
- Create and maintain student files
- Work with TU Global Office to process the applications and Form 1-20s for international students
- Maintain the graduate school website
- Facilitate collaboration between the graduate school, other TU offices and other graduate education programs with other schools
- Manage budget, prepare documents related to expenditures, manage ail orders for supplies and equipment
- Inform Principal Investigator (PI) and upper management of key activities and assists in grant proposals
- Conduct and/or supervise research-related training, manages strategic plans, and communicates objectives to the community and professionals
- Participate in committee meetings, stay informed on department protocols, and oversee human resources activities for direct reports
- Serve as secretary of the graduate council and work with program directors and department heads
- Develop and maintain ProQuest, CAS, Slate and other computerized platforms
- Process applications, reports, certifications, and other documents associated with the graduate school and the registrar’s office
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Master’s degree preferred
- Five years of applicable experience. May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education on the one for one basis beyond the minimum education requirement
Physical Demands
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Ability to walk short distances
- Ability to lift and carry parcels, packages and other items
- Ability to prepare and analyzing data and figures
- Ability to view a computer terminal; extensive reading
