Job Summary
Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external clients. Perform patient intake and assist provider with patient care both clinical and clerical. Have a working knowledge of HIPPA. Answer phones use computer technology.
Essential Job Duties
- Operate front desk.
- Explain treatment procedures to patients.
- Verify patient information by interviewing patient, reviewing and/or recording medical history, taking vital signs, confirming purpose of visit or treatment and monitor patient care and answering of phones.
- Supports patient care delivery by assisting the medical provider with the preparation of patients for examination Prepare laboratory specimens, dispose of contaminated supplies, sterilization of medical equipment.
- Handle of prescriptions or medication as directed by physician, preparing patients for x-rays, changing bandage dressings.
- Serve as Phlebotomist and perform basic laboratory tests as directed.
- Collect and process COVID samples.
- Educate patients by providing medication and dietary information and instruction.
- Assist in maintain medical supply inventory, and orders medical supplies as directed.
- Maintain medical equipment by following all operational instructions including preventative maintenance and when necessary, contacting equipment vendor for repair.
- Update and file patient medical records. Performs other duties as assigned by Director or supervising team lead.
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
- High School diploma or GED
- Medical Assistance and phlebotomy training
Physical Demands
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Ability to walk short distances
- Ability to lift and carry parcels, packages and other items
- Ability to view a computer terminal
- Able to lift over 25 lbs.
- Able to be mobile most of the shift
Skills and Attributes
- Ability to correctly and accurately use applicable computer programs and applications.
- Ability to work a FT schedule.
