Job description: Seeking a patient, knowledgeable individual who has teaching experience in middle school/high school. They should be a good communicator that can help an 8th grade student with ELA enrichment. The goal is to help the student develop more consistent reading habits, improved reading comprehension, and enhances writing skills.

TDBH is a one-on-one, in-home and/or online tutoring service. We understand the value and effectiveness of face-to-face interaction in the learning process, and promote in-person tutoring whenever possible. There is the potential for remote work, but we are largely dedicated to in-person tutoring.

Our tutors must:
- Have a strong background/expertise in the subject
- Be comfortable working with students and build a good rapport
- Behave and dress professionally
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with student, family members/guardians, and teachers
- Have strong communication (i.e., written & verbal) & organizational (i.e., time management) skills
- Be willing to meet students in-person at their home (or in a public space)
- Be able to use online tools for instruction for virtual tutoring (if requested)
- Be able to travel within a reasonable distance to the tutoring location
Experience:
- Strong knowledge/expertise in the subject
- Experience in tutoring or creating lesson plans is a plus
- Experience working with students in an educational or childcare setting is a plus
Education:
- High school graduate (Required)
- College student 2nd/3rd year or higher (Preferred)

Responsibilities:
- Scheduling: Schedule tutoring sessions with clients
- Preparation: Prepare lesson plans for each session
- Tutoring: Teach skills and concepts required. Assist with homework and studying for tests
- Reporting: Monitor student’s progress and summarize each session in a report
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 4 per week
