DESCRIPTION:

As a BIM Manager at WDF Inc., reporting to the Project Director / VDC Director you will have the opportunity to:

lead the implementation and execution of Building Information Modeling (BIM) for a large-scale Design-Build project. This role ensures that BIM processes are effectively utilized for design coordination, clash detection, construction sequencing, and project execution. The BIM Manager will work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to drive collaboration, improve design efficiency, and support field execution with digital construction models.

BIM Strategy & Implementation:

  • Develop and implement the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Define and enforce BIM standards, workflows, and best practices for the project team.
  • Establish and maintain model-sharing protocols across multiple disciplines using Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms.

Coordination & Clash Detection:

  • Manage the federated model, perform clash detection, and resolve design conflicts using Navisworks, Revizto, or similar tools.
  • Facilitate BIM coordination meetings with architects, engineers, and trade partners to resolve issues before construction.
  • Work closely with MEP, structural, and architectural teams to ensure accurate integration of design components.

Construction Sequencing & Model-Based Collaboration:

  • Develop Site Logistics Plans in 2D and 3D
  • Develop 4D simulations for construction sequencing using Synchro, Navisworks, or Fuzor.
  • Assist project teams with model-based quantity takeoffs and construction logistics planning.
  • Support the development of digital twins and as-built documentation for facilities management and asset tracking.

Project Support & Field Implementation:

  • Integrate BIM with project scheduling, cost estimating, and prefabrication workflows.
  • Collaborate with the field team to deploy BIM-to-field solutions (e.g., Trimble, laser scanning, augmented reality).
  • Train field personnel and subcontractors on the effective use of BIM tools and digital workflows.

Data Management & Reporting:

  • Maintain model accuracy, metadata consistency, and compliance with LOD (Level of Development) 300/400/500 standards.
  • Generate BIM analytics, clash reports, and progress dashboards for project leadership.
  • Support the design and construction team with RFI resolution, design changes, and constructability reviews.

Technology & Innovation:

  • Stay up to date with BIM advancements, AI-driven construction tools, digital twin technology, and automation trends.
  • Evaluate and implement new tools, workflows, and integrations to optimize efficiency in design and construction.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and support to project team members and junior BIM specialists.

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or  related experience.
  • 5 years of experience in BIM management on large-scale Design-Build projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Dynamo, and scripting tools.
  • Experience with Procore, BIM 360, ACC, Revizto, Synchro, Rhino, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of construction sequencing, prefabrication, and model-based estimating.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills for cross-discipline coordination.
  • Experience with laser scanning, drone mapping, and AI-driven construction tools is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in Power BI for BIM analytics and dashboard reporting.
  • Experience with point cloud processing and Scan-to-BIM workflows.
  • Familiarity with ISO 19650 BIM standards and LOD definitions.
  • Ability to automate workflows using Python, Dynamo, or Grasshopper.
