DESCRIPTION:
As an Estimator - JOC at WDF Inc., reporting to Lead Estimator/VP JOC Operations you will have the opportunity to:
- Provide and/or coordinate full estimating services on large, complex work and all types of contracts
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
- Provide complete conceptual (or bidwork) and final estimating input on complex projects
- Provide technical support to personnel preparing discipline estimates for assigned bids
- Insure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures
- Assist contracting department during preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids as required
- Track awarded contracts as required - may include estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit; procuring materials, etc
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar from an accredited institution and 5 years of relevant experience as an Estimator. Advanced degree desired
- Experience working on NYC Metro area construction projects is required. Experience working with public NYC agencies is desired
- Experience working on multiple projects and with various clients at the same time is required
- Candidate needs to have Job Order Contracting (JOC) experience or experience working on Unit Price projects in NYC public sector
- Candidates must have worked for small local and regional contractors that focus on smaller projects or renovation and/or tenant improvement work
- Extensive construction industry experience working in public sector is a plus
- Candidates must also have strong computer skills and be proficient with estimating software
- Excellent written and verbal skills
The salary range for this position is between $87,000 and $168,000 depending on experience
