Chicagoland Commercial General Contractor is seeking a Construction Project Manager / Senior Project Manager that will be responsible for managing projects in and around Chicago. This position will require an understanding of various construction & project management skills; be able to oversee the day-to-day activities of multiple construction projects; ensure client satisfaction; make decision and recommendations which will impact corporate relationships with clients and profitability or projects he/she manages.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accurately estimate projects from conceptual through construction documents.
- Provide initial schedule for estimating and bidding purpose; provide detailed construction schedule as necessary.
- Review with Senior Management project costs to ensure project is kept within budget.
- Maintain subcontractor relations and assist with conflict resolution as needed.
- Provide counseling, guidance, and direction to project site personnel.
- Coordinate, plan, and supervise project field activities with Subcontractors, Labors, and Tradesmen.
- Enforce the company’s safety policies and maintain a climate that emphasizes on-site safety in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain client relationships.
- Maintain quality control by regular inspection of work in progress and completed projects.
- Prepare and maintain Change Order, RFI, and Submittal process.
- Prepare punch-list for each project and all items have been completed.
- Manage project close-out and final documentation.
- Ensure city inspections are approved, documented, and communicated to Project Team.
- Attend & coordinate weekly meetings as needed (safety, owner, progress, close-out, etc).
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Four-year construction-related degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
- 5 years’ industry experience preferably for a General Contractor or Construction Manager.
- Superior communication and interpersonal, leadership, supervisory, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
- Innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
- Ability to travel per business need.
- Supervisory experience in managing a team.
- Ability to succeed with client relationships.
- Interior office project management experience required.
