About the role

Under the direction of the Regional Maintenance Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for the repair, safe use of, and maintenance of all vineyard equipment. Responsibilities include repair, troubleshooting and preventive and unplanned maintenance on a variety of gasoline and diesel-powered automobiles, trucks, tractors, motorized farm equipment, as well as non-motorized farm equipment. Assist other mechanics with projects as directed. These activities may be performed in both the shop and in the field.  There are 3 levels of the Vineyard Maintenance Mechanic (1, 2, and 3).  Your Level will depend on your experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains motor vehicles and mobile agricultural fleet equipment in proper working order.
• Tractors: John Deere; Kubota, McCormick; Pumps
• Harvesters (over-the-row; tow-behind)
• LP gas knowledge, electronic ignition and electronic fuel systems
• Equipment: Disc, hoe plow, sprayers, mowers, Hondas, chain saws, gear boxes.
• Hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, open and closed centered system and European hydraulic
• Heat exchangers – water pump systems
• Safely operate tractors, backhoes, forklifts, hoists, hand and power tools, grinders, and related tools.
• Performs safety inspections on equipment and fixes any problems.
• Hooks up, inspects, and repairs implements.
• Responsible for preventive and unplanned maintenance records and some parts ordering.
• Keeps Shop Manager informed of progress on their assigned work.
• Hauls grapes during harvest with appropriate vehicle and with appropriate driver’s license.
• Keeps work area clean and safe.
• Operates service truck and equipment trailer to haul equipment and supplies.
• Flexibility to changing work priorities and hours of work as needed.
• Fabrication of agriculture implements.
• Keeps assigned company service truck clean and maintained.
• Must follow all of the company's safety rules and regulations at all times.
• Reads, understands, and follows job order specifications and work orders.
• Completes preventive maintenance tasks; maintains appropriate documentation.
• Maintains tools and work area in good operating order.
• Work with other shop mechanics to assist in the fabrication or welding of multi-component parts.
• Certified for air brakes and auto brakes.
• Maintains fixed equipment, pumps, wind machines, buildings etc.
• Help train maintenance personnel and operators on the safe and efficient use of all equipment.
• Commutes to various sites to perform duties.
• Follows all TWE safety, HSE guidelines.
• Lock, Tag, Clear and Try, Work at Heights, Excavation, Hot Work principles strictly adhered to.

About you 

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid CA driver’s license with a good driving record.
• You have three years’ experience repairing the following equipment: Tractors: John Deere; Kubota, McCormick Pumps. 
• You have LP gas knowledge, electronic ignition and electronic fuel systems.   
• You have the ability to use Disc, hoe plow, sprayers, mowers, Hondas, chain saws, gear boxes and wind machines.  
• You have the ability to use hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, open and closed centered system and European hydraulic and heat exchangers – water pump systems.  You are certified in air brakes and auto brakes or equivalent competency

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay range offered for this position is $27 to $38 per hour and other benefits. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work out of our Napa, CA location.  If the incumbent works out of another location, the wage rate may fall above or below this range. Treasury reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
