PRIMARY RESPONSBILITY:
Perform as lead person to assist the shipping supervisor/manager ensuring that all shipments are loaded on time, as ordered, according to customer specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with all logistics including but not limited to; shipping finished goods, raw material inbound loads, RMAs from customers, and warehouse transfers.
- Coordinating and communicating with carrier dispatchers, drivers and other parties involved in the shipping process to ensure that goods are delivered/ received within designated time windows.
- Assists the Materials Manager with the successful negotiations of all freight rates and/or shipping contracts.
- Produce record and organize shipping documents including bills of lading, delivery tickets, pick lists, pick list load sheets, and certifications.
- Ship loads through our ERP System, Assistics, and record details through the Shipping log.
- Produce, record, and organize certifications for FR and other specialized products, to ensure that they are in compliance with the set standards.
- Assist in managing inventory including entering data, removing WIP from inventory, an adjusting inventory numbers to most accurately ensure that the system count matches the physical count.
- Supports High Point’s Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable request for shipping documents backup and tracking details for financial purposes.
- Calculate accruals for month based on end invoices before sending them to the Operation Manager for approval
- File and organize documents such as Production Orders and BOLs
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of high school diploma or general education degree (GED), a higher degree (AS/BS) would be preferred.
- Proven experience of at least 2 years in shipping management or supervisory role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with a team as well as independently.
- Possess good conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to be able to work in a fast-paced adaptive work environment.
- Must have good judgement and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in organization, and evaluation using Microsoft tools.
- Ability to work in hot/cold manufacturing environment, which can include standing and/or sitting for duration of task(s).
- Ability to transport or move up to 50lbs of material.
