Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Be able to follow all Company or site-specific safety rules
- Operate heavy equipment in a safe and productive manner
- Routine maintenance on the equipment, to include, but not limited to, keeping equipment clean and operable
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required including fluid and filter changes and parts lubrication
- Operate various hand tools, including but not limited to jackhammer, demo saws, shovels, and survey equipment
- Maintain clean and orderly worksite at all times.
- Employees are expected to be flexible in their work and assume other responsibilities assigned by management, as deemed necessary
Education/Skills and Specifications:
- High School Degree or GED
- Prior construction work experience or a certificate from an accredited Vocational/Trade School or higher
- Basic or advanced math skills, knowledge of design/plans and construction principles
- General knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment
- Ability to work with different construction equipment/tools
- Manual dexterity
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, contractors and Job Superintendent(s)
- Understand instructions from supervisory positions, both written and verbal
- Possess necessary communication skills in both written and verbal forms
- Must be punctual, have a strong work ethic, and maintain a good attendance record
- Must be able to work as a team on all projects
Position Requirements:
- Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen
- Must be able to pass a drug screen
- Consent to authorization of a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record request
- Class A CDL is preferred
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, as needed
- Willingness to travel/work out of town
