Job Summary:
The Financial Controller will assist our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in overseeing financial activities within the company, ensuring that the accounts payable and accounts receivable departments operate efficiently and accurately. This role involves managing construction contracts, bonding, and insurance processes, preparing state filings, and conducting and overseeing various audits. The Financial Controller will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting senior management in strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable:
- Supervise and manage the accounts payable department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor and subcontractor payments.
- Oversee accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, collections, and reporting.
- Construction Contracts & Compliance:
- Review construction contracts to ensure compliance with legal and financial requirements.
- Obtain necessary project bonding for projects as required.
- Prepare and file periodic state filings in accordance with regulations.
- Audits & Reporting:
- Prepare and manage various audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage general ledger entries and maintain accurate financial records.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze financial data and generate reports to provide insights into the company’s financial performance.
- Assist the CFO in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing accurate financial projections.
- Monitor financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
- Minimum of five years of experience in financial management, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
