Testing is required for this position. We must receive your test results by the posting deadline for you to be considered for this position.

Testing is conducted by the Idaho Department of Labor Magic Valley Office. Their hours are Monday –Friday from 8 a.m. – 5p.m. To receive the testing links; call 208-735-2500, email magicvalleymail@labor.idaho.gov, or visit the Department of Labor Magic Valley Office at 420 Falls Avenue in Twin Falls.

Please note:
If you took tests through the Department of Labor for a company other than Twin Falls County, your tests scores are not automatically sent to us and you will need to mail, email, or fax them to our office before the posting deadline to be considered for this position.

Tests required: General Typing, Typing 10-key and Data Control Clerk
Tests will be kept on file for six (6) months. When you retest, we will use your most recent test score for each position for which you apply. Provides Customer Services to public and private entities while processing paperwork for garnishments.
Makes deposits for the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office as needed.
  • Prepares and process all incoming civil documents for the Sheriff's office, which may include summons, warrants of distrant, garnishments, protection orders, etc.
  • Arranges for the Sheriff's sales under authority of Writ of Execution.
  • Answers questions and provides information to individuals coming to the office or over the phone.
  • Prepare returns of 'Service on Papers served' documents, from individuals who come to the Sheriff's Office.
  • Research Idaho Code on civil processing.
  • Scan, file and shred documents as needed.
  • Assists landlords in acquiring help to complete 'Notice to Vacate' forms
  • Assists other positions within the Sheriff's Department as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Office clerical experience
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Light bookkeeping experience 
  • Computer skills
  • Typing (30 wpm)
  • Sitting with intermittent moving in an office environment, lifting of office supplies (e.g., Binders, etc.) talking and hearing in person and by telephone memorizing and seeing (e.g., documents, etc.)
  • Stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering and grasping
  • Manual dexterity to perform office functions (e.g., typing, filing, collating operating office machine, 10-key, etc.)
  • Repetitive motions (typing) required 30% of workday
  • Public relations skills
  • Knowledge of law enforcement procedures
  • Ability to perform essential duties efficiently and accurately with or without reasonable accommodations and without endangering incumbent or other employees.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
  • High School graduate, with at least two years college course work in criminal justice or related area; Associate's Degree is preferred; and
  • Previous experience in law enforcement preferred; and
  • A valid Driver's License; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position may be considered. 
  • Must successfully pass background investigation relevant to the position, including fingerprints and remain in good standing for the duration of employment with the County.
