Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Further education in recreation therapy, gerontology, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience working with elderly individuals, particularly in a healthcare setting, is preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with Abilityidents, families, and staff.
- A positive attitude with a passion for working with seniors.
Creativity and flexibility in organizing and adapting activities.
- Basic understanding of dementia, Alzheimer's, and other common age-related conditions is a plus.
- Ability to assist residents with Ability mobility, if necessary, and participate in physical activities.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift light objects (e., Abilityivity materials) and assist with mobility or positioning of residents as needed.
- Ability to engage in physical activities alongside residents, such as chair exercises or walking groups.
- The Activities Assistant will work within Twin Oaks Center, a long-term care facility, and may encounter various medical, cognitive, and emotional conditions.
