As a Substance Abuse Clinician, you will play a critical role in providing evidence-based treatment and support to individuals struggling with substance abuse disorders. Responsibilities:
Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' substance abuse history, mental health status, and treatment needs using standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.
Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, client preferences, and evidence-based practices.
Individual and Group Therapy: Facilitate individual and group therapy (IOP and OP) sessions using a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
Dual Diagnosis Treatment: Provide integrated treatment for clients with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders, addressing both conditions simultaneously.
Relapse Prevention: Implement relapse prevention strategies and skills training to help clients maintain sobriety and prevent relapse.
Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute mental health or substance abuse crises.
Family Therapy: Collaborate with clients' families and significant others to address family dynamics, communication patterns, and support systems.
Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other members of the interdisciplinary team, including clinicians, peer support and case managers, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for clients.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
Continuing Education: Stay informed about best practices, emerging research, and advances in the field of substance abuse treatment through ongoing professional development and training.
Qualifications:
Education: Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Licensure: Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Clinical Social Worker (CSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC)
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience providing direct clinical services to individuals, preferably in a residential or outpatient treatment setting.
Skills: Strong clinical assessment, individual and group therapy, and crisis intervention skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of substance abuse disorders, co-occurring mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and ethical guidelines for clinical practice.
Benefits:
Salary for LCADC, CSW, or LPCA: $35-45/hr
Salary for all higher licensures: $45-60/hr
