SUMMARY:
This position provides 24-hour security for the
facility. The incumbent patrols the
grounds and buildings in order to monitor security protection to the employees
and product. The incumbent will

GUARD PROCEDURES
PRODUCTION DAY PROCEDURES:
1. Greet all visitors and contractors in a friendly and professional
manner.
2. Inquire as to the nature of their
visit – who they are here to see.
3. Complete : (a). Visitor

1. a. Unannounced Visitor
Obtain and verify a positive I.D. match for an
unannounced visitor. Once a positive I.D. has been confirmed return the I.D. to
the visitor.
b. Announced

An announced
visitor or an expected visitor may not be asked to supply an I.D. due to that
the visitor has already been approved for entrance by a member of management.
2. Obtain completed Confidentiality Form. NOTE: form is valid for 1-day use only.
3. Issue a Visitor ID Badge.
4. Call and/or notify the
person with whom the visitor is there to see.
5. Clear the visitor and give directions and parking information to the
visitor.
(b) Trucks –
Receiving -
1. Complete In-Bound Truck Log
2. Obtain
completed Confidentiality Form. NOTE:
form is valid for 1-day use only.
2. Notify Shipping &
Receiving Dept. of load arrival.
(c) Trucks – Shipping -
1. Complete Out-Bound Truck Log
(verify B.O.L. information – trailer number, confirm seal number, time leaving
lot, etc.)
NON-PRODUCTION DAYS
PROCEDURES:
1. Secure all gates.
2. Make rounds per schedule – verify all exterior doors are secure, parking and
lot visual inspection, make notes of cars/trucks on premises.
3. Complete Cooler & Trailer Lot Check Form information - verify all trailer seals
(empty & full trailers), fuel level and refer temps. Notify appropriate
personnel if problems are detected (low fuel, high temps, etc.). NOTE: fuel level should not go below ¼ full level;
refer setting and temp should be between 26 degrees to 40 degrees for fresh
loads & -10 degrees to 10 degrees for frozen loads.
4. Monitor “cooler” temps – note temperatures on Cooler & Trailer Lot
Check Form Sheet. Notify appropriate personnel if high temp is detected.
5. Monitor side and back trailer storage areas – monitor for any unusual
circumstances, i.e., trailer leakage, damage to perimeter fence line, strong
orders, ammonia leakage or engine room gate or fence open, etc. Record ion Lot
Inspection Form. Notify appropriate personnel if any unusual circumstances are
detected.
6. Monitor Waste Water Treatment Plant area – monitor the pit area and gauges
located on the main control panel inside.
