Job Overview
The Estimator will play a vital role in generating detailed and accurate cost estimates for custom stainless steel manufacturing projects. This position requires a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, material costs, and customer requirements. The Estimator will work closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure all quotes meet company standards and customer expectations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Interpretation of Drawings:
Analyze and interpret concept drawings, photos, and other relevant information provided by the sales team to understand project requirements.
- Cost Estimation:
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for equipment and systems using an ERP-based quoting system. This includes:
- Custom stainless steel food processing equipment.
- Custom food service equipment such as countertops and cabinets.
- Spare parts for new and existing equipment.
- Collaboration:
Work closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to clarify technical and cost-related questions to ensure estimates align with customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
- Material & Labor Analysis:
Calculate material and labor costs based on company standards and project specifics, including fabrication, assembly, and installation requirements.
- Process Optimization:
Continuously refine estimating processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and turnaround times. Complete a review of installation and project costs after project completion.
- Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of estimates, assumptions, and revisions in the ERP system to ensure traceability and compliance.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience:
- 2 years of experience in estimating, preferably within custom stainless-steel manufacturing or a related industry.
- Familiarity with food processing and food service equipment is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in ERP systems for quoting and project management.
- Competency in CAD software for interpreting concept drawings (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Experience with Microsoft applications: Outlook, Work and Excel.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams to include customers, suppliers, and co-workers.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $58,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
