- Required Knowledge & Experience
- Associates Degree Preferred but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Word
- Bilingual ability (Spanish) prefer but not required
- Must have professional ability to work effectively with other agencies and with a variety of clients and ability to manage time with a minimum amount of supervision.
- Must pass all preliminary pre hire requirements including but not limited to Drug Testing and Criminal Background Clearances.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet clients (facilitate organization of waiting area).
- Obtain and copy necessary program documentation.
- Answer incoming calls in professional and courteous manner.
- Retrieve voice mail messages and return calls pertaining to general inquiries.
- Check people in to food pantry and ensure that clients are up to date with required documents from Northern Illinois Food Bank.
- Write up requests for payments on emergency assistance files.
- Communicate with emergency assistance vendors as necessary.
- Assist with CSBG data entry in STARS system, including input of payment services
- Maintain adequate supply of CSBG forms and flyers.
- Support the development of the annual CSBG Community Needs Assessment, and Community Action Plan (Micro level and Macro level).
- Participant in trainings for staff development
- Complete intake with clients via phone, email, and/or in person.
- Complete weekly referral log
- Be up to date with all referral inquires (Iris, Smart sheets, and website)
- Keep confidential all information pertaining to agency children, families, clients and staff.
- Perform any other assigned tasks relevant to the effective operation of the agency or assigned by supervisor.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $18.50 per hour
