About You
As our Communications, Marketing, and Events (CME) Officer, you will oversee all aspects of brand and marketing, external and internal communications, and event planning— managing the organization's public image, brand, and signature events in support of strong member engagement and achievement of business objectives. This is a hybrid role requiring selected candidate to work onsite at our TASB headquarters in North Austin two days a week and additional days for essential events and meetings.
A Typical Day
Brand & Marketing
- Lead the planning, development, and execution of effective marketing campaigns across various channels like digital, social media, print, and events.
- Work closely with TASB business and service areas to align marketing efforts with business objectives.
- Utilize data analytics to measure the performance and return on investment (ROI) of marketing campaigns.
MarCom Operations
- Act as main liaison with information technology (IT) and enterprise data team to ensure core marketing and communications applications and digital platforms are thoughtfully integrated with customer relationship management (CRM) system.
- Oversee full-service print shop and mail room.
Event Planning
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the organization’s signature events – enhancing the distinctiveness and impact of each event.
- Oversee the collaboration with sponsors, exhibitors, vendors, and partners to ensure that their event requirements are comprehensively addressed and met.
Communications
- Support Deputy Executive Director and communications team to develop and execute comprehensive communication plans to promote the Association’s brand and messaging.
- Oversee the communications team’s relationship with journalists, the issuance of press releases and coordination of media interviews.

How You’ll Make an Impact
- Utilize data analytics to measure the performance and return on investment (ROI) of marketing campaigns.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer behavior to identify new opportunities and adjust marketing strategies accordingly.
- Supervise the development of impactful learning event experiences that create brand touchpoints, foster relationships and drive member and employee engagement.
- Ensure that our technical systems are optimized for efficient and effective event registration and training credit reporting.
- Protect and enhance the Association’s brand identity through consistent and effective messaging and visual design.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or a related field (Master’s degree or additional certifications are a plus).
- Minimum 10 years’ experience leading a Marketing or MarCom structure and team.
- Experience managing events with oversight for collaboration with sponsors, exhibitors, vendors, and partners is preferred.
Skills For Success

- Strong, proven writing and editing skills.
- Excellent understanding of creative direction, brand development, and visual storytelling.
- Direct experience with national brand awareness and management campaigns in different industries.
- Knowledge of SEO and content marketing best practices for web and social media.
- A self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize and drive results in a fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines.
