Bookkeeper/Billing Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Billing Specialist to join an innovative and forward thinking Forensic & Construction Consulting firm in Colorado. This role is critical to ensuring accurate financial records and timely billing processes for projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping and billing, with specific experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) industries.
Responsibilities:
- Project Billing Management: Prepare, review, and process invoices for projects, ensuring alignment with contract terms and client requirements.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable, including tracking payments and outstanding balances.
- Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, project budgets, and expense reports to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and team members to address billing-related questions and provide financial insights.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or billing specialist, with at least 3 years of experience in the AEC industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software, and Deltek Ajera.
- Familiarity with project-based billing, including time-and-materials, fixed-price, and cost-plus contract structures.
- Strong understanding of AEC industry financial practices and terminology.
- Familiarity with financial reporting for multi-phase or multi-location projects.
- Experience developing and implementing streamlined billing processes or tools.
