The Tyler Junior College (TJC) department of Institutional Advancement (IA) is seeking a dynamic administrator to join a successful development team as part of The Centennial Campaign (Campaign).
The Campaign Director, Business and Industry is responsible for supervising corporate and business major giving in support of Campaign priorities. Priorities have been collaboratively established by the College and the Tyler Junior College Foundation (Foundation), a $110 million support organization, the largest of its type in the State of Texas and one of the top three nationally.
It is an exciting time to join the IA team at TJC, as the College and Foundation partner on The Centennial Campaign in honor of the 100 year legacy of the institution. This ambitious initiative will engage current and new contributors to generously support TJC and ensure the College continues to honor its mission, student and community success.
Essential Functions and Duties
Primary Responsibilities
- Leading and administering major giving for current and prospective corporate and business donors that can contribute $10,000 or more to the Campaign.
- Securing endowments and outright major gifts to support student scholarships, programs and facility preservation with priority given to TJC’s growing workforce programs.
- Managing an active portfolio of 100 plus current and prospective corporate and business donors with a strong emphasis on moves management.
- Developing Campaign strategies to broaden network of corporate and business contacts in cooperation with TJC and Foundation leadership, IA personnel, current major donors and other contacts in the community.
- Recruiting volunteer leadership to support facilitation of corporate and business major giving initiatives in support of Campaign.
- Developing, with appropriate College personnel and external vendors, quality collateral materials to cultivate, solicit and steward business and corporate donors.
- Working with Manager, Donor Relations and Special Events to plan and implement strategic, special events that support cultivation, fundraising and stewardship of current and prospective business and corporate donors.
- Setting Campaign goals for corporate and business giving in collaboration with Vice President.
- Playing a vital role in overall fundraising efforts in support of Campaign.
- Representing TJC and Foundation through participation in community organizations and professional groups.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Leading development of fundraising initiatives in support of the College’s intercollegiate athletic programs.

Qualifications
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Experience
Three years of direct experience in major gifts fundraising
Preferred Experience
- Experience in business and corporate fundraising
- Familiarity with Blackbaud RE NXT or advancement CRM
- Effective presentation and public speaking skills
Additional Job Specific Requirements
- Three to five years of fundraising experience with emphasis on building, sustaining, and overseeing a major giving program in higher education or a non-profit agency.
- Proven experience in successful fundraising and history in meeting goals.
- Flexible schedule with night and weekend hours and occasional travel.
