Description
The Maintenance Technician/Groundskeeper, TJC West is a full-time 12 month position that reports to the Supervisor, Landscaping and Grounds.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Provide upkeep of West Campus lawn to include; mowing, edging, fertilizing, seeding, and trimming.
- Experience with lawn care equipment; knowledge of accepted safety practice required.
- Experience with small engine repair highly preferred.
- Assist with maintenance of campus buildings including, but not limited to, carpentry skills, utilizing power saws and tools, electrical skills and general maintenance skills
- Perform various repairs and install of different types of flooring, including but not limited to, VCT, vinyl plank, ceramic tile and carpet
- Perform plumbing maintenance as assigned
- Paint various components on campus as assigned
- Knowledge of and ability to speak and/or understand English is very desirable.
- Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 60 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk and/or shift and continuously perform essential job functions for an 8-hour shift with appropriate breaks.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent desired.
