DESCRIPTION
A Student Assistant (SA) at TJC plays an important role in promoting the mission of the department/office and college. The SA is required to perform various clerical tasks that aide in maintaining an organized workflow of the department/office. This position provides support to the College’s overall payment processes. The focus is on vendor file maintenance and providing timely and thorough customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Provide stellar customer service when answering departmental phone calls.
- Assist with preparing records required to support the accounts payable function for auditing purposes.
- Participate in cross training of other accounts payable functions.
- Perform miscellaneous duties related to accounts payable which include scanning documents, filing, and maintaining documentation according to record retention schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Students must be registered for undergraduate classes and maintain enrollment status to work in these positions. Students may qualify for Federal Work Study, which will be determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
- Students are allowed to work a maximum of eighteen (18) hours per week and cannot work in multiple hourly positions. A work week is Sunday-Saturday.
