What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant position at Tyranena Veterinary Clinic?
We are currently looking to add a veterinary assistant to our growing team.
Employment Package:
Wages: Hourly wages are based on the level of experience. Semi-annual to annual reviews will be performed to allow for adjustment.
(Typical starting range is $12-17 per hour. Pending experience.)
Pay checks issued monthly.
Retirement-Simple IRA: Simple IRA, employee’s may be eligible after the first year of employment. There is a 3% employer match.
Vacation: After the first year of employment, one equivalent week of hours worked is allowed.
(Each additional year an additional day is earned to a maximum of 2 weeks.)
Clothing allowance: There is a $150 per year allowance.
Pet care: Each employee is allowed to register a maximum of 4 pets to be cared for at cost.
Additional Pets will be charged at cost plus 25%.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians in examining and treating animals, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Handle and restrain animals during procedures and examinations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including animal enclosures and equipment.
- Provide compassionate care and support to pet owners, addressing their questions and concerns.

Qualifications
- Veterinary experience and knowledge of veterinary terminology
- Proficient in animal handling and pet care
- Experience with animal husbandry and kennel operations
- Ability to perform animal restraint
