Job Details:
Summary: Building a strong culture of continuous improvement is the responsibility of the Continuous Improvement Leader. This individual delivers training and actions for continuous improvement throughout the facility while serving as the Subject Matter Expert on Continuous Improvement. They provide direction to Production Team Members, Engineers, and Functional Leaders across the facility. The CI Manager leads and grows a culture of Continuous Improvement and Change Management with all activities at Tyson. They facilitate projects focused on Team Member food safety, quality improvements, on-time delivery, inventory reductions, cost savings, and process performance improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate successful Kaizen and rapid improvement process events;
• Assist in data collection to identify opportunities and track improvements;
• Ensure work activities align with established safety and environmental standards;
• Demonstrate knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and techniques;
• Develop strategies and programs to improve productivity and efficiency;
• Instruct others in continuous process improvements using problem-solving techniques;
• Facilitate projects for cost reductions and process performance improvements;
• Maintain CI implementation schedules, progress updates, and documentation;
• Provide CI training and coaching to all levels of the organization;
• Interface with plant leadership on projects addressing staffing, manpower, time, and capacity analysis;
• Calculate cost reductions and optimal problem-solving methods;
• Partner with the Plant Controller to document savings and profit results;
• Track CI Projects and report progress to plant staff;
• Evaluate and confirm production standards;
• Assist in monitoring department equipment OEE and maintenance targets;
• Work with process owners to develop value stream maps;
Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business (or equivalent experience);
• Experience: 5 years of demonstrated Continuous Improvement experience (or 5 years of leadership experience in Lean manufacturing);
• Communication Skills: Ability to engage people at all levels; strong coaching and mentoring skills;
• Travel: 4 or less trips per year;
• Specific Skills: Strong Business acumen, LEAN 5S, and Continuous Improvement skills;
