Job Details:
Summary:
- Facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak the same language by converting one spoken language to another.
- Interpreting services include but are not limited to Employment, Training & Orientation, Meetings, Human Resources, Health Services, and other operational activities as assigned.
- This position is held to a strict code of confidentiality.
- The interpreter must be willing to work in all environments of the facility.
Requirements:
- Education: High school degree or equivalent is preferred but not required.
- Experience:
- Must be able to pass the Interpreter Assessment with an average total score of 90% or higher.
- One year of interpreter experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Current Team Members already certified under Tyson interpreter program or other language certification acquired through an academic organization will be preferred.
- Communication Skills: Must have strong verbal communication skills in their dominant language and the English language. Must agree to sign a confidentiality agreement.
- Special Skills: Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision, while at the same time be a member of a team to coordinate and provide support as needed. Must be able to demonstrate strong organizational, decision-making, and follow-up skills. Basic computer and typing skills preferred. The Interpreter is expected to use dictionaries and glossaries for reference in order to communicate a clear and concise message.
- Travel: Must have a valid driver's license to attend outside medical appointments.
Reports to: HR Partner
Priority consideration will be given to applicants at this facility, as well as priority for internal candidates impacted due to plant closure or job elimination.
