Summary:
Support all departments on assigned projects through data collection and analysis to contribute to the product integrity in meeting company and customer specifications. Focus on variation reduction and yield improvement. Identify and assist in the elimination of product concerns by collaborating with various departments. Ensure compliance to Food Safety programs. Complete micro testing of finished product ingredients and environmental samples. Ensure adherence to product and material specifications. Perform product verifications, temperature checks, O2 checks, net weight checks, etc. Maintain accurate detailed records. Make decisions and provide guidance regarding processes to improve product performance. Support initiatives that drive and monitor continuous improvement. Direct and ensure needed data collection for identified projects including SPC studies capability studies and process improvement. Use software for product analysis; utilize graphs and charts to present findings with suggested process specification changes against this data. Participate in research and development initiatives such as product qualifications, product improvement initiatives, and sample shipping. Provide guidance to departments on process changes. Actively participate in Safety and Lean teams as needed. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Associate s degree in food science or related field preferred. Six Sigma Certification preferred.
- Experience: 1 years of food manufacturing plant experience required. Knowledge of SQF preferred.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal across all levels of the plant.
- Special Skills: Ability to perform intermediate math equations. Ability to contribute to a safe and organized work environment. Proficient knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices GMPs required. Ability to solve problems. Solid organizational skills project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Additional Skills: Ability to work variable shifts, overtime, weekends, and/or holidays. Able to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment PPE. Must be willing to repeatedly push, pull, lift, and carry up to 40 pounds. Ability to withstand wet, humid, cold, and hot environments. Must be able to work in a refrigerated area with an ambient temperature of 40 degrees. Must be willing to accommodate shift start time changes. Must be willing to work in an environment with the sight and smell of meat products or any other product present when processing meat such as blood, fat, bone, and spices. Be able to walk or stand for 8-12 hours per day on hard floors.
