    Clarification from the agency

    U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

    Duties

    • Performs a variety of tasks having several steps or a sequence of tasks that requires attention to work operations in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures.
    • Sets up cafeteria lines, steam-tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, and beverages; replenishes as necessary.
    • Washes tables and counters. Operates, break downs, and cleans all equipment assigned to the area for food preparation.
    • Stores cleaned dishes, glasses and silverware. Sweeps and mops kitchen floors.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    Conditions of Employment

    • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
    • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
    • A one year probationary period may be required.
    • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
    • Satisfactorily completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
    • Satisfactorily completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 to include a medical examination.
    • Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
    • Light to heavy physical effort is required. Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds.
    • Subject to continuous standing and walking, and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending.
    • May be required to work on ladders and use powered cleaning equipment.
    • Must be willing to accept a varying or rotating shift to include early mornings, days, nights, weekends and holidays.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    Ability to understand and follow simple instructions and be able to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines.

    Experience Must Be Reflected In Resume To Receive Credit.

    Additional Information

    This position is seasonal with projected start date in April 2025 located at MWR Lily Pad Cafe at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey.

    Primarily supports Lily Pad Cafe at the Frog Falls Waterpark. Position works outdoors in a snack bar environment.

    PCS Costs

    • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

    FWS Allowances and Differentials

    • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
    • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
    • Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.

    Incentives and Bonuses

    • Incentives will not be paid.

    Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances

    • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
