Position Summary:
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce seeks a member relations professional to lead engagement with high-level members, manage day-to-day C-suite relationships, and identify and cultivate new revenue and membership opportunities. Supporting an industry portfolio and leading select accounts, the manager will engage government relations executives of leading companies to develop deep partnerships and leverage those relationships to deliver member value and drive revenue growth. The successful candidate is a team player who thrives on developing strong partnerships and leveraging those relationships to deliver member value and unlock revenue.
Responsibilities:
Support and manage a portfolio of the Chamber’s significant members in a given industry or industries, working closely with C-suite decision makers and government affairs leaders.
Actively engage members through in-person meetings, calls, and regular touchpoints to share updates, build strategy, and deliver value.
Actively engage members to deliver value through regular connections and touchpoints, news and policy updates, and event invitations and opportunities.
Support the achievement of annual revenue and retention goals within the portfolio.
Create customized KPIs for each portfolio member company to define success, demonstrate value, chart progress against strategic goals, and exceed members’ expectations.
Work creatively and collaboratively with policy expert colleagues to constantly identify new areas of interest for members throughout the Chamber’s advocacy offerings, deliver contracted benefits, deepen overall engagement, and unlock additional areas of investment.
Work closely with finance and operations colleagues on revenue forecasting, renewal planning, invoicing, and engagement tracking, using the Salesforce platform and other tools.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years’ experience in fundraising/sales or member or client relations; political or policy-related experience is preferred.
Demonstrated success in business development or fundraising with a track record of hitting goals.
A strong client service ethic.
An interest in policy and politics with a solid understanding of the Chamber’s work and value.
Persuasive communication and presentation skills.
Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal skills.
Ability to explain complex policy issues in simple, easy-to-understand terms.
Ability to forge relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Desire to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial team environment.
Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to manage complex and changing program and policy elements with ease.
Experience using a CRM, such as Salesforce, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
The salary range for this position is $ $66,998.00 - $69,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
