This position is located in the Service Integration & Innovation Division, Office of Consular Systems and Technology, Bureau of Consular Affairs, (CA / CST / SII), in the U.S. Department of State.
Duties
- Responsible for planning, developing, implementing, overseeing, and maintaining a comprehensive data analytics program.
- Leads the development of long-term, strategic data planning activities, including the identification of data requirements and analytics models.
- Designs and conducts empirical studies and analyses using AI / ML techniques and other advanced technologies to analyze structured, semi-structured, or unstructured data, identify patterns, and make decisions on the information collected.
- Leads the development and implementation of new or revised data management requirements, governance, procedures, and products that ensure the protection and integrity of data products while maintaining multiple avenues of access.
- Represents the Bureau and the Department on intra-agency and interagency committees, working groups, and task forces to formulate new policy and program initiatives designed to apply data science and related technologies.

Basic Requirements :
Degree : Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.
Combination of education and experience : Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
IN ADDITION to the basic requirements, this position requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
