As the Accountant, you will make a big impact by providing leadership, guidance, and support to all Accounting Department personnel and assist the Controller with the day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations to ensure timely execution and quality of financial reporting. Other key responsibilities include assisting with month-end closing, financial statement preparation, and analysis of General Ledger accounts and schedules.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Prepares and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
- Daily balancing of assigned processes and accounts.
- Analyzes financial reports and records, making studies or recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures.
- Prepares various monthly and annual accounting reports as assigned.
- Conducts special studies and develops or recommends accounting methods and procedures.
- Coordinates accounting matters with other departments and locations.
Experience: Three years of demonstrated work experience in accounting or bookkeeping preferred.
Education: A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills: Experience with automated data processing systems including PC software programs and mainframe system.
