PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR
The Payroll Administrator ensures accurate and timely union payroll processing using accounting and HR systems, while providing excellent customer service.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.

PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR
The Payroll Administrator ensures accurate and timely union payroll processing using accounting and HR systems, while providing excellent customer service.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
- Primary responsibility for weekly union payroll processing
- Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of payroll and all other sensitive data
- Assist in generating and distributing analytics related to controlled insurance programs (CIPs), certified payroll, and union benefits.
- Maintain union wage rates
- Monitor the efficiency of payroll workflows and communications; implement steps to improve as necessary
- Participate in employee on-boarding and off-boarding record keeping, and update employee payroll information as needed
- Respond to payroll questions and other related requests professionally, in a timely and accurate
- Process payments of union fringes, taxes, and employee benefits
- Assist HR with employee maintenance, including I-9 reporting, electronic timecards, and responding to requests for employment verifications
- Assist with W2 preparation
- Assist with special projects as needed
- High School Diploma or equivalent education (GED) required
- College-level or business school accounting courses are a plus.
- At least 1 year of experience administering payroll required
- Previous experience with union payroll is preferred
- Experience within the service industry is preferred.
- Ability to understand and contribute positively to the company’s cultural norms
- Excellent customer service skills
- Positive team mindset – professional maturity and adaptability to help the team
- Focused results and meeting deadlines – demonstrate a sense of urgency as required
- Good understanding of union agreements and fringe benefits
- Good organizational, time management, and follow-up skills
- Demonstrates the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
- Proficient in knowledge and application of payroll concepts, laws, and contractual issues
- Intermediate proficiency with Word and Outlook; Advanced proficiency with Excel
- Must be able to maintain crucial deadlines and prioritize
- General acumen with numbers and basic mathematics
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and excel in a fast-paced work environment that includes frequent interruptions
- Proficiency in 10-key and data entry
- Working knowledge of computer operations and experience with accounting systems
- Frequent use of a computer, including keyboarding, viewing the monitor, etc
- Travel as required to conferences and continuing education.
- Occasional day trips between construction job sites, offices, and manufacturing facilities
- The range for this position has been established at $23.50 to $33.00 per hour and is U.S. Engineering’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training
