This position is located in the Center for Tobacco Products (CTP), which is responsible for carrying out the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act. This law gives the Center broad authority to regulate the manufacturing, distribution, and marketing of tobacco products. This position is a Supervisory Health Communications Officer, the Director of the Division of Public Health Education, and principal advisor to the CTP Director on communications and marketing.

Qualifications
The position of Supervisory Health Communications Officer falls under the 1001 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade GS-15, you must meet all requirements by 11 : 59 pm EST on 01 / 07 / 2025.
Minimum Qualifications :
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. The specialized experience must demonstrate one year of full-time work experience, or the equivalent if part-time.
GS-15 : You must have 1 year of specialized experience, equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) performing the following duties : Providing strategic planning, coordination, and quality assurance for all communication, education, and marketing activities; managing a health communication, education, and marketing program that integrates multi-disciplinary programs of research, evaluation, and prevention activities; providing administrative and technical direction to teams of health communication specialists and social scientists; staying abreast of technological developments to capitalize on new opportunities for outreach via media, digital, artificial intelligence, or other means.
