Service Technician
Position Summary:
U.S. Industrial is hiring a Service Technician, whose primary role will be to troubleshoot machinery issues customers are experiencing, travelling to customer sites for warranty, maintenance, and repair services, and travelling to customer sites to train them on new machinery they have purchased.
About U.S. Industrial:
U.S. Industrial Machinery is a company dedicated to serving the machine tool needs of companies in the metal fabrication industry. We serve a wide variety of customers from small machine shops to NASA, Toyota, and all branches of the United States Armed Forces. We currently have eight product lines; four product lines focused on metal fabrication machines such as hydraulic press brakes and hydraulic shears, and four lines focused on chip making machines such as lathes and mills. We are a rapidly growing and expanding company dedicated to expanding our customer base through new products and new innovations.
We have sold machines in every state in the USA and some machines internationally. Our post-sales service is of key importance, and we have travelling technicians that service machinery, provide training and support, and conduct warranty repairs. In addition, we house 5,000 square feet of parts inventory so we can better serve our customers.
Job Description:
- Perform inspection and testing process on new machines prior to shipping to customers
- Troubleshooting customer issues with machinery over the phone and helping to identify possible solutions
- Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair machinery
- Travel to customer sites to train their staff on how to properly use and maintain new machines they have purchased
- Perform in-house repair of machines and key components such as rebuilding hydraulic cylinders, rebuilding pneumatic nitrogen cylinders, and installing parts on new machines that may have arrived damaged
- Perform in-house demonstration for customers interested in buying machines
- Mentor and help train newer employees and upcoming apprentice technicians that are learning
- Assist in unloading shipping containers when new machines arrive

Candidate Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 33%
- High degree of technical expertise
- High degree of mechanical knowledge
- Ability to speak clearly, plainly, and professionally
- Ability to speak with customers in stressful situations while maintaining professionalism
- High degree of professionalism
- Knowledge of computers and programming
- Organizational skills
- Knowledge of PLCs, hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatics is a plus
- Existing knowledge of press brakes is a plus
Compensation:
- The role will be compensated based on an annual salary of $48,000 - $60,000
- Bonuses are only paid when the company meets objectives
- We provide health insurance and life insurance as employee benefits. Employees are eligible after 90 days of employment.
