Security Care, Inc. is seeking a part-time Assistant Firearms Instructor/Training Coordinator for its Pittsburgh, PA market. As an assistant instructor, you will assist the Director of Learning and Development in the execution of all training programs. Programs include Emergency Medical, Firearms & Tactics, Management & Leadership, Interpersonal Communication Skills, Reality-Based Training Exercises and other School Police Officer related curriculum.
Up to 24 hours per week. Days/Times are flexible based on training needs. Rate: $26.75-$31/hr based on qualifications.
Responsibilities
Provides course and lesson plan development and technical instruction for basic and advanced security and firearms training courses.
Work Environment
Work is performed in widely diverse environments depending on situational demands. Work involves travel, operation of a personal computer and equipment normally found in an office, and occasionally lifting and moving objects up to 200 pounds. Work also involves frequent reaching, standing, walking, and operating a vehicle. Work is occasionally required beyond normal working hours and may occur in adverse weather conditions. Work involves the safe use of firearms and training equipment.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; - Prior Municipal, State or Federal Police Officer instructor experience; - At least 5 years of experience in a training environment, presenting and implementing training programs for law enforcement personnel, Federal & State levels; - NRA Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor Certified;
- Must be able to write and review curriculum; - Must have excellent people and organizational skills; - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); - Consent to and pass initial and random drug screening; - Knowledge of adult learning principles, course development, classroom and practical instructional presentation methods, and methods for evaluating training effectiveness;
- Must possess PA ACT 235 and PA License to Carry;
- ACT 120 Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- NRA Law Enforcement Tactical Instructor Certification/FITP Certification; - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; - CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor Certification; - MPOETC (Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission – PA) Instructor Certification; - Simunition® Instructor Certification;
- LEITP (Law Enforcement Instructor Training Program) Certification;
