FAN PROGRAM MANAGER

 

CLASSIFICATION: Year-round; Full-time

FLSA: Exempt 

REPORTS TO: Director, Marketing & Communications

LOCATION: Park City, Utah 

TRAVEL: Approximately 20%

SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE 

U.S. Ski & Snowboard is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Fan Program Manager to lead and manage a new paid fan program and support the marketing team on fan engagement campaigns.  

This role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that drive fan engagement, increase membership and create a vibrant community around skiing and snowboarding. The ideal candidate will be able to seamlessly transition into the project midstream, have experience in program management, marketing, events and community engagement, with a passion for winter sports. To be successful in this role, you will need to be organized, have a positive mindset, eager to embrace new horizons and have a passion for learning and growth.

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Manage the paid fan membership program, including creating and executing strategic plans for growth, engagement and retention.
  2. Support the marketing team on campaigns and activations that engage fans of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team, including its women’s empowerment program, sustainability initiative and others. 
  3. Refine the membership offering, conducting market research to adjust price points and member benefits, ensuring they remain appealing to the target audience and are align with organizational goals.
  4. Identify, negotiate and secure deals with partners that provide additional value to the membership offering, such as exclusive discounts, access to events, or unique experiences. Work with partners to activate through their marketing channels.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams (creative, events, foundation, membership, commercial partnerships) to create compelling content, promotions and experiences for paid members.
  6. Represent the fan program at U.S. Ski & Snowboard World Cup events – driving new sign-ups and activating for existing members.
  7. Monitor and analyze fan program performance, including tracking membership growth, engagement metrics and financial performance to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  8. Manage technical and operational aspects of the program, including oversight of the membership platform and proficiency with CRM tools.
  9. Manage the fan program budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and aligned with organizational priorities.
  10. Serve as the primary point of contact for fan program inquiries, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any issues or concerns.

COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, sports management or a related field.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in program management, marketing or community engagement, preferably in the sports industry.
  3. Strong understanding of digital marketing and social media platforms, with the ability to create and execute engaging campaigns.
  4. Proven track record of successful partnership development and negotiation.
  5. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  6. Demonstrated experience in budget management, market research and data-driven decision-making.
  7. Experience driving strategy implementation and juggling multiple projects simultaneously.
  8. Creativity, ability to develop and execute innovative solutions.
  9. Passion for skiing and snowboarding, with a deep understanding of the sport's culture and community.
  10. Willingness to travel and work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
