BETterment Resident Services Coordinator
This person reports directly to the Program Manager of U.S.VETS and is responsible for the coordination and supervision of all services and programs delivered by U.S.VETS & the BETterment Community. This person directly supervises the Resident Assistant Staff and works collaboratively to ensure the effective delivery of residential services. The main function of these programs is to assist residents to achieve their highest level of independence and successfully transition to and maintain permanent housing.
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Responsibilities
- Responsible for facilitating and maintaining a therapeutic community
- Supervises and manages the Resident Service Department for the BETterment Community
- Available for on call-emergencies and responsible for ensuring 24-hour coverage of the site
- Supervises the delivery of basic services (shelter, food, hygiene) to individuals and families served at the facility, to include mail/postage process received at the facility
- Organizes and coordinates community service areas and therapeutic stations
- Implements residential program structure and supports provision of direct services
- Provides support, training and supervision to staff who provide direct services
- Responsible for implementing and make necessary provisions to the fluidity of services offered
- Coordinates daily shuttle van runs (or other required frequency depending on program/site)
- Works collaboratively with the Program Manager to ensure that operational needs are being met
- Responsible for the storing and inventory of donations and goods
- Coordinates with Program Manager any property issues as they arise in collaboration with the Property Manager and services staff
- Facilitates any necessary room checks as required to ensure a safe, clean and hazardless environment
- Oversees Urinalysis Drug Screening and Blood Alcohol Content testing to support safe, sober, and clean environment (as applicable depending on program model)
- Responsible for the departmental administrative responsibilities to include assigned toxicology testing reports (where applicable), van logs, master room/bed logs, and daily activity logs
- Responsible for ensuring the reliability of mail services if applicable for the site/program type
- Coordinates weekly cleaning schedule of client rooms and other commonly-used areas around the site
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelors in Social Work, Public Administration, Non-Profit Management, or a related field is preferred. The following may substitute for a degree:
- 20 years retired military
- 7 years at a veteran-specific organization in management
- At least two years’ experience in program management, staff supervision, program development, and budget management as related to programs
- Experience working with veterans, homeless individuals, disabled individuals, and/or families in need and culturally diverse populations
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups of individuals, to include clients, staff, and community stakeholders
- Leadership and Conflict Management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated personal and financial integrity in the workplace and a strong work ethic
- Valid driver’s license required. Must meet company insurance requirements and complete a provided driver training course
- Ability to work independently and within a team-approach environment
