The Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Coordinator reports directly to the Program Manager of U.S.VETS and is responsible for the coordination and supervision of all veteran family services and programs delivered by United States Veterans Initiative. The sole function of these programs is to assist homeless and at-risk veterans and their families to obtain and maintain housing.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development of a therapeutic milieu in accordance with the United States Veterans Initiative Mission and Philosophy.
- Acts as conduit between U.S.VETS and the Veterans Administration and other community partners and programs to collaborate for service-delivery for veterans and their families.
- Oversees and assists with new client intakes, evaluations, and placements of veterans and their families who are in need of services.
- Assists with the development of client care guidelines for veterans and their families and ensure that legal requirements are met.
- Supervises Case Management, Outreach, and other SSVF staff providing services to veterans and their families.
- Performs outreach to veterans and their families and assists with case management as needed to include visits to streets, shelters, and client homes.
- Develops and maintains collaborative partnerships with community agencies, landlords, and vendors and actively participates in local continuum of care planning.
- Responsible for entering data and updating the Homeless Information Management Systems.
- Responsible for data entry and management of program databases to compile demographics, track services, assess data quality, and upload information into the VAs Repository System.
- Responsible for fiscal management of supportive services and emergency assistance funds to include documentation of check requests, petty cash, and mileage logs and managing the program budget.
- Conducts internal audits of client files and participates in monitoring visits.
- Maintain overall organizational integrity within the program and compliance with all federal and other regulations.
- Facilitates weekly team meetings and monthly meetings with sub grantee if applicable.
- Participates in SSVF calls and conferences.
- Responsible for generating and submitting weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to Management and VA.
- Coordinates special projects as identified by Executive Director, Clinical Director, Program Manager, and Operations Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Social Work, Public Administration, or related field.
- Experience working with homeless individuals, veterans, and/or families in need with thorough understanding of family rapid re-housing and homeless prevention services.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse group of clients, staff, and community members.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Leadership and Conflict Management skills.
- Demonstration of personal and financial integrity in the workplace.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and within a team to achieve program and organizational goals.
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks with competing timelines.
- A valid drivers license, and clean driving record.
