As an Associate I, General Engineering, you will be trusted to execute Engineering project tasks and deliverables and corresponding documentation independently at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Act as a lead over Engineering change controls.
- Escalate issues to Engineering leadership in a timely manner.

- Perform a variety of tasks during Engineering project execution ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive, including running validation on production equipment, assemblies and subassemblies such as component assembly, wrapping, material packaging, and product testing.
- Read, understand, and follow quality system procedures at all times.
- Set up equipment for product testing and validation.
- Create and handle quality data properly using good manufacturing documentation practices.
- Support Engineering to close all open and aging Equipment-related Change Controls
- Create tools to improve the GxP administrative tasks of our Manufacturing Engineering Department
- Support Engineering with Revalidation Assessments for multiple product lines.
- Support Engineering with equipment retirement activities and documentation.
- Ensure that all of the validation binders and/or electronic files have been turned into DMG and/or placed into the DMG validation folders.
- Create and maintain Engineering Project library to ensure that there are no overdue projects and follow up with Engineering project managers about project status.
- Create and maintain Engineering Training Library.
- Execute SOP document updates.
- Technical writing skills preferred.
- Support validation activities for Automated and semi-automated pieces of equipment.
- Support our new Product Line Engineering group with builds and data analysis.
- Support in Inventory management for validations.
- Interacts with Alcon documentation management system such as TrackWise Change Control, Alfresco and Windchill Systems.
- Complete Engineering forms (Production Readiness Reviews, EIFs, Calibration Forms, ECNs).
- Perform SOPs updates.
- Require good computer and writing skills
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience.
- Ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- One (1) Year of Relevant Experience
- Work hours: Exempt
- Travel Requirements: 0-10%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- Production process experience
- Yellow/Green Belt Certifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
