What are the responsibilities and job description for the ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR I (CAMPUS VISIT SPECIALIST) position at UAB Health System?
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR I (CAMPUS VISIT SPECIALIST) t o represent the institution to prospective undergraduate students and their families at college fairs, visits to high schools, on campus and off-campus events in a lead capacity, and through regular telephone and email contact.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages Campus Visit Center Front Office
o Assists in admissions presentations (Tour Talks) as needed.
o Oversees student assistants
o Manage day-to-day office operations and front desk coverage, as needed.
- Manages Student Assistants
- Ensure the Campus Visit Center is upholding customer service standards and that all day-to-day student assistant duties are being performed
- Coordinate hiring and training of student assistants
- Coordinate scheduling of student assistant shifts
- Coordinates group tours
- Receive group tour requests and coordinate with campus visit staff
- Organize group tour agendas, scheduling, communication, and prep for Group Tours
- Acts as in-house Admissions Representative during heavy travel times alongside other CVC staff
- Engages in admissions trainings and stays up to date with admission/scholarship changes
- Assists in managing student visitor database (VisitDays)
- Assists with events, travel, and social media efforts as needed
This position will be located in the Campus Visit Center and will focus on campus visits and tours.
(Hourly Rate: $17.00 - $17.50)
Bachelor's degree required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed with a Driver's License from the State of Alabama required.
